My work explores the poetic intersection between memory, fragility, and imagination through the intricate art of handcrafted paper blooms.
Drawing from an old-world tradition, I breathe new life into a craft once practiced by my Italian ancestors.
These flowers were not merely decorative but carried cultural significance, symbolising memory, offering, and endurance.
I do this one petal at a time. Each bloom is meticulously sculpted from Italian crepe paper, without templates or repetition, allowing for organic, one of a kind forms that speak to the uniqueness of both flora and femininity.
While inspired by the beauty of real flowers, my creations often transcend the natural world, forming fictional botanicals that exist only in my imagination.
These blooms tell stories that real flowers cannot; symbolic, strange, and sometimes surreal.
I'm drawn to the ephemeral nature of the natural world, juxtaposed with the permanence of paper, each possessing a softness, fragility, and the quiet power to command space.
My large-scale installations transform these quiet materials into bold, immersive experiences, blurring the line between craft and contemporary art.
At its heart, my practice is an act of preservation and reinvention. It honours the past, reflects on identity, and serves a deeper purpose beyond aesthetics. Each piece invites viewers to consider what endures, what fades, and how beauty can be both powerful and impermanent.
